    We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.


    Job Summary:

    Provides fiscal support for grants and contracts. Oversee post-award grant financial administration.


    Required Qualifications:

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Financial administration of post-award grant management.
    • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Responsible for cash management of grants including preparation of reimbursement requests and draw-down of funds.
    • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries on general ledger accounts, including documenting business transactions.
    • Reconcile and analyze various accounts on the general ledger and the subsidiary ledger for accuracy.
    • Ensure compliance with grantor regulations and guidelines.
    • Communicate with staff, faculty, internal and independent auditory and financial monitors, grant agencies and sub-recipients as needed on grant issues.
    • Maintain organized files and documentation and assist with the preparation of audit schedules, financial statements and statistical data.
    • Stay current with changes in grant regulations and accounting standards.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures and core values.

     
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Knowledge of general and grant accounting principles and practices
    • Proficient in financial software packages (prefer Workday) and MSOffice, particularly EXCEL.
    • Knowledge of district policy
    • Organizational and Communication skills

    • Detail-oriented
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external parties

     
    Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort


    Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Occasional physical effort required.

    Requirements


    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a directly related field (with at least 12 hours of accounting) received from an accredited institution and two (2) years of accounting experience preferred. Fund accounting and experience directly related to grants desired.
    Experience in higher education desired.
