    We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.


    Job Summary:

    Manage the alumni relations program building long-term relationships with alumni to create active involvement through service, leadership, advocacy, and philanthropy to advance Collin College’s mission.


    Required Qualifications:

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop, manage, and implement a comprehensive alumni relations program according to the Alumni Relations Plan. Evaluate progress and take initiative to develop new initiatives for future planning as the program grows.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with alumni through daily two-way communication initiatives including interpersonal communication as well as mass communication such as newsletters, email campaigns, website, and social media. Responsible for documenting progress in the alumni database and leveraging resources to capacity.
    • Plan and execute college alumni fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the Advancement team building a pipeline of annual gifts in support of the annual fund and special projects.
    • Recruit a team of engaged alumni and inspire them to assist the college. Execute activities and events to increase alumni engagement in meaningful ways such volunteerism and service opportunities, ensuring activities stay within budget. Manage and implement alumni activities related to graduation.
    • Manage the Alumni Advisory Council by planning meetings, developing the agenda in collaboration with the vice president of advancement and council chair. Maintain communication with council members, and create documents and procedures necessary for long-term success.
    • Work collaboratively with other areas of the college to promote and improve alumni participation.
    • Represent the alumni program at meetings and other college functions and participates in events.
    • Develop, monitor, and evaluate budgets for alumni programs.


    Supplemental Functions

    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures and core values.


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


    Knowledge of and/or experience with digital, social media, and diverse mediums of communication
    Knowledge of collegiate or nonprofit fundraising including the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of private gifts
    Knowledge of higher education environment
    Knowledge of event planning and volunteer management
    Strong verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills
    Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as publishing software and databases (The Raiser’s Edge or AlmaBase preferred)
    Time management skills with demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and under deadlines
    Strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills with the ability to network and persuade
    Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and engaging nature
    Ability to interact professionally with alumni, major donors, college employees, and external constituents
    Ability to comfortably and effectively speak in public and make presentations in meetings
    Ability to manage and monitor budgets and expenses
    Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed


    Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort


    Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
    Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.

    Requirements
    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
    Four (4) years of related experience.
    Preference for experience in alumni relations, fundraising, development, marketing, public relations, communications, or related field.
