Building Families For Tomorrow to Host “A Night of Hope” Gala

Building Families For Tomorrow to Host “A Night of Hope” Gala

Building Families For Tomorrow (BFFT), a nonprofit dedicated to restoring families impacted by incarceration in Kenya, will host its annual fundraising gala, A Night of Hope, on April 25, 2026, at The Grand Ballroom, catered by Rick’s Chophouse.

The evening—hosted by beloved local weatherman Roy Ponder—will bring together community leaders, business owners, churches, and supporters for an inspiring night of storytelling, dinner, and live and silent auctions. Proceeds will directly support women transitioning from prison and children awaiting reunification with their mothers.

Now in its 9th year, BFFT equips women with job training and support to successfully reintegrate into society while providing care and education for their children. While the average recidivism rate for women in Kenya exceeds 40%, BFFT program graduates have a rate of just 1.6%.

In 2025 alone, BFFT served 232 individuals — 62 women and 170 children — with 90% of graduates able to sustain their families. Currently, 73 women are waiting to join the program, highlighting the growing need.

“This isn’t just about fundraising,” said Founder Jana O’Guin. “It’s about restoration—families reunited, women walking in dignity and purpose, and children experiencing hope for the first time.”

Chamber members are invited to attend, sponsor, or get involved through child sponsorships, mission trips, or speaking opportunities.
