About Pointe Academy

Pointe Academy is a warm, nurturing, faith-based childcare center in McKinney, Texas, focused on supporting the whole child. We provide a safe, engaging, and structured environment where children can learn, play, and grow socially, emotionally, and academically. 

Position Summary

Pointe Academy is seeking caring, dependable, and flexible Substitute Teachers to support our classrooms when regular staff are unavailable. This role focuses on supervising children, maintaining routines, and creating a positive, supportive environment throughout the day. 

Responsibilities

- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care

- Follow daily schedules and classroom routines (including playtime, learning activities, meals, and rest time)

- Support age-appropriate learning activities and play-based instruction

- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment

- Encourage positive behavior and model kindness and respect

- Communicate effectively with staff and leave notes for the regular teacher

- Assist with transitions, meals, and basic care needs as required

Qualifications

- High school diploma required

- Experience working with children in a childcare, preschool, or school setting 

- Genuine care and patience when working with young children

- Ability to manage a group of children in a safe and positive manner

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Must be reliable and adaptable

- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

- Food Handlers certification (or willingness to obtain)

- Familiarity with licensing standards for childcare centers

Schedule and Compensation

- Flexible, as-needed scheduling

- Daytime hours (Monday-Friday)

- Competitive hourly rate based on experience
