Job Title: Director of Franchise Development

Job Summary:
The Director of Franchise Development is responsible for driving the expansion of our franchise network through strategic planning, recruitment, and onboarding of new franchisees in targeted markets, with a primary focus on the USA with a smaller focus on Canada. This role requires a dynamic, results-driven individual who excels in relationship building, has a deep understanding of franchising, and possesses the ability to identify and engage prospective franchisees. Atypical franchisee recruitment efforts will need to be executed in order to build our base of franchisees in the USA. The Director will collaborate closely with the executive team to develop and execute strategies that align with the company's growth objectives and ensure sustained success for franchisees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Growth and Planning
- Develop and execute the franchise development strategy to expand the brand footprint in key markets across the USA. Key markets to be determined by VP, NA Restaurant Development with the collaboration of brand leaders and DOFD.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify high-potential areas and adapt strategies based on market trends and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to set growth targets and ensure alignment with company-wide goals.
- Prospective Franchisee Recruitment
- Identify, qualify, and recruit prospective franchisees who align with the brand’s values, mission, and financial standards.
- Engage in atypical recruitment strategies ie. cold/warm messages through online networking platforms like LinkedIn.
- Manage the franchise sales process, from initial contact through the discovery phase, financial and operational evaluation, and contract negotiations.
- Conduct presentations, host webinars, and attend trade shows or industry events to promote the franchise opportunity and build a network of potential franchisees.
- Relationship Management and Onboarding
- Guide franchisees through the onboarding process to ensure a seamless transition into the brand.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new franchisees during their initial phase, offering support and resources to foster a strong start.
- Partner with training, marketing, and operations teams to facilitate franchisee setup and training.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting
- Track and report key metrics to assess the effectiveness of franchise development strategies and campaigns.
- Monitor compliance with brand standards and franchise agreements, providing feedback and support where needed.
- Present regular reports to senior management, including forecasts, updates on market conditions, and status of franchise leads.
- Brand Representation
- Uphold and communicate the brand’s vision, values, and mission throughout all franchise development activities.
- Serve as a brand ambassador, representing the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build awareness and drive interest.
- Additional Responsibilities
- From time to time may be asked to evaluate new site opportunities.
- Completion of REC packages on new sites in evaluation.
- Attend marketing and strategy discussions pertaining to USA growth.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years of franchise development experience.
- Proven track record of achieving franchise sales goals and driving multi-unit franchise growth.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of franchise sales, operations, and relevant industry regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficient in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual presentation tools.
Work Environment:
This position is based in Dallas, Texas or surrounding area, with travel to prospective markets, franchise locations, industry conferences, and corporate headquarters (Vancouver, BC or Toronto, ON) as needed. Although this position is currently remote based, eventually there will be a requirement to attend an in-person office setting a minimum of 3 days per week within the greater Dallas area.
Compensation:
- Salary- $150,000
- Competitive base salary plus performance-based incentives.
- Commission on new franchisees- TBD, will tailor for the right candidate
