Job Summary: Responsible to prepare and deliver coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to the college's Core Values, an understanding of culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field. Meet professional standards for faculty in accordance with college policies and procedures. Collaborate with leadership on programmatic priorities. Required Qualifications: Essential Duties and Responsibilities For Lab Courses (if applicable): Supplemental Functions Teaching assignments may be on one or more of the college's campuses or offsite locations and may include concurrent enrollment, distance education, evening and weekend programs, online instruction and other instructional modalities. Non-teaching assignments include instructional development, academic advising and assisting students, registration assignments, participating in college-wide activities and task forces, and other appropriate responsibilities. These responsibilities may be scheduled within the 260-day full-time workday calendar. Agriculture Professor
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment and laboratory storage to optimize facility/equipment utilization and safety. Assist in maintaining the greenhouse and hoop house areas to optimize facility/equipment utilization and student safety.
Conduct initial troubleshooting measures on equipment and promptly label and report all equipment in need of repair. Ensure compliance with warranty requirements as needed and preventative maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
Follow published safety and security guidelines and procedures to ensure student safety and protection of laboratory and farm equipment.
Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited institution and demonstrated competencies in teaching discipline. Academic preparation in teaching field to include eighteen (18) semester hours in the discipline to be taught.
18 graduate hours in Agroecology, Botany, Sustainable Agriculture, Soil Science, Plant Science, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Pathology or other Agriculture science-related topics, and three (3) years teaching experience.
Three (3) years industry experience in greenhouse crop production, agronomy, soil and water conservation, or other related agricultural fields.Images
