Walmart currently operates three Supercenters in McKinney. The first Supercenter, which opened in April 2004, is located at 5001 McKinney Ranch Parkway . The original store that opened in 1978 and converted to a Supercenter in 2005 is Wal-Mart s experimental Supercenter containing 26 environmentally sustainable experiments that could profoundly change the way the retail industry designs, constructs, and manages facilities as they relate to the environment. This store is located at 2041 Redbud Boulevard. The newest addition is a Supercenter located at 1721 N. Custer Road which opened in January 2007.
